Part 1: Submit Your Application

  1. Your resume: Please include details about your relevant work experience.
  2. A one-paragraph letter of introduction: Even if you’ve worked at Ignite before, this is an opportunity for you to introduce yourself to members of our executive staff who may not be familiar with you, personally or professionally.
  3. References: Provide phone and email contact information for two to three references. Ideally, these should be individuals who have worked with you and can speak to your collaboration style, theatrical skills, reliability, and insight.

Part 2: Interviews by Invitation Only
Interviews will be scheduled by invitation only. If your application is shortlisted, we will contact you to arrange an interview.

Final Selection:
The final decision will be based on a combination of your materials, your interview performance, and our executive staff’s evaluation. The Board must approve all final selections. As we proceed, we will do our best to keep you updated on the status of your application.

CURRENT OPENINGS

Job Title: Part-Time Administrative Assistant
Reports to: Executive Director
Compensation: $16/hour
Hours: Up to 20 hours per week (Evenings and some Saturday mornings, flexible schedule)

Position Overview

Ignite Theatre Company is seeking a reliable and organized Administrative Assistant to join our team. This is a part-time position with the potential to grow into a full-time role. The Administrative Assistant will serve as the first face of Ignite at the front desk, manage day-to-day communications, and support both staff and families. The ideal candidate will bring professionalism, strong communication skills, and a passion for working in a creative, community-centered environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact at the Ignite Theatre Company desk, greeting guests and families with warmth and professionalism.

  • Maintain and update the company website with current events, announcements, and class/show information.

  • Manage correspondence including email communication, phone calls, and mail.

  • Support administrative operations such as scheduling, record keeping, and file organization.

  • Provide general office support to the Executive Director and artistic staff as needed.

  • Assist with event coordination and occasional weekend activities.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.

  • Comfort with website management (basic knowledge of website platforms preferred; training available).

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a customer-service mindset.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Flexibility in scheduling, with availability for evenings and some Saturday mornings.

  • Prior administrative experience preferred but not required.

  • A passion for the arts and youth development is a plus!

Position: Music Teacher – Individual & Group Voice Lessons

Ignite Theatre Company is seeking a skilled and passionate Music Teacher to provide both individual and group voice lessons. This role will help students of all ages develop strong vocal technique, musicality, and performance confidence.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach private voice lessons tailored to each student’s skill level

  • Lead small group classes focusing on ensemble singing, harmony, and musical interpretation

  • Prepare students for auditions, performances, and competitions

  • Maintain a supportive, positive learning environment

Qualifications:

  • Degree or equivalent experience in music, vocal performance, or music education

  • Ability to work with students of all ages and skill levels

  • Strong piano skills preferred

ALL Ages Winter Mainstage – Stage Manager

Ignite Theatre Company is seeking an experienced Stage Manager for our upcoming All Ages Winter Production at the Grandel Theatre, running December 5-7, 2025. The Stage Manager will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of rehearsals, tech week, and performances. Below are the details:

Key Dates:

  • Load-in: December 1, 2025
  • Tech Week: December 1-4, 2025
  • Performances: December 5-7, 2025
  • Strike: December 7, 2025
  • Auditions: September 6, 2025
  • Callbacks: Date TBD

Position Purpose:

The Stage Manager ensures the production runs smoothly by managing both youth and adult performers, and overseeing technical operations. This role will require close collaboration with the director, cast, and production team to bring the show to life, as well as ensuring performers’ safety and compliance with health guidelines.

Duties:

  • Communicate the director’s needs to the team
  • Coordinate stage crew, call cues, and oversee performances
  • Manage rehearsal props, set, and performer check-ins
  • Maintain health and safety standards, including risk management
  • Delegate work, take blocking notes, and ensure smooth execution of the show
  • Serve as a positive role model for performers and student staff

Qualifications:

  • Significant stage management experience
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage technical aspects (lighting, sound, set changes, etc.)
  • Calm, respectful, and firm leadership with a sense of humor
  • Background check and reliable transportation required
  • Must attend mandatory training session at Ignite

Time Commitment:

  • Auditions, callbacks, and rehearsals (2 days per week)
  • Tech, performances, load-in, and strike are non-negotiable

Compensation:

  • Stipend: $1,250 – $1,700 (negotiable based on production budget)

Costume Designer Jobs at  – Ignite Theatre Company

Position Title: Costume Designer
Location: Ignite Theatre Company
Reports To: Director, Production Manager

Position Overview:
Ignite Theatre Company is seeking an experienced Costume Designer to join our production team for various upcoming shows. The Costume Designer will be responsible for designing, creating, and managing the costumes for the production, ensuring the visual aesthetic of the show aligns with the director’s vision. This role requires creativity, collaboration, and strong organizational skills to execute costume designs on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing Costumes: Collaborate with the director and production team to create costume designs that reflect the themes, characters, and world of the production.
  • Costume Construction & Fitting: Oversee the construction or acquisition of all costumes. Coordinate fittings and alterations for all performers.
  • Budget Management: Manage the costume budget, ensuring that all expenses are tracked and that designs are executed within financial constraints.
  • Wardrobe Maintenance: Ensure all costumes are properly maintained throughout the rehearsal process and performances. This includes regular cleaning, repairing, and adjusting costumes as necessary.
  • Supervision of Team: Lead a team of costume assistants, stitchers, and other costume staff, providing guidance and support throughout the design and production process.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the director, stage manager, lighting designer, and other production team members to ensure that the costumes align with the overall production design.
  • Supervise Dress Rehearsals: Ensure all costumes are in place and ready for dress rehearsals. Assist with any last-minute adjustments during rehearsals.
  • Manage Costume Storage & Strike: Oversee the organization and storage of costumes after the show’s run, and participate in the strike of costumes post-production.
  • Safety & Health: Ensure the safety of performers by designing and constructing costumes that are safe, comfortable, and suitable for movement.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience: At least 1 year of costume design experience, preferably in theatrical productions.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in costume design, pattern making, and sewing.
    • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
    • Strong problem-solving abilities, particularly when facing design challenges.
  • Knowledge:
    • Familiarity with costume history, fabrics, and techniques.
    • Understanding of the technical aspects of stage lighting and how it affects costume design.
    • Experience managing a costume department, including assistants and volunteers.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to work on your feet for extended periods and lift costumes or fabric materials as needed.

Additional Requirements:

  • Must pass a background check.
  • Must attend a mandatory training session at Ignite Theatre Company prior to the start of the show.
  • Reliable transportation required to and from the theatre for fittings, rehearsals, and performances. 

 

Music Director Jobs at Ignite Theatre Company

Position Title: Music Director
Location: Ignite Theatre Company
Reports To: Director, Production Manager

Position Overview:
Ignite Theatre Company is seeking a highly skilled and passionate Music Director to join our team for upcoming productions. The Music Director will be responsible for overseeing the musical elements of the production, including vocal coaching, music rehearsals, and conducting musical performances. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of musical theatre, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with directors, performers, and production staff to bring the musical vision to life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Musical Leadership: Lead vocal rehearsals, coaching performers on vocal technique, expression, and interpretation of the score.
  • Score Preparation & Interpretation: Analyze the musical score in collaboration with the director to understand the overall vision for the production and ensure accurate musical interpretations.
  • Vocal Coaching: Provide individual and group vocal coaching to ensure that each performer is prepared for their musical numbers, helping them achieve strong, confident, and expressive performances.
  • Rehearsals: Lead or assist with music rehearsals, ensuring that all performers are familiar with their parts, harmonies, and musical cues.
  • Rehearsal Piano: Play piano during rehearsals to accompany singers, demonstrate musical ideas, and help performers learn their parts.
  • Collaborate with Director & Production Team: Work closely with the director and other production team members to integrate the musical elements with the overall creative vision of the show.
  • Audition Support: Assist with auditions by playing for auditions, helping to evaluate performers’ vocal abilities, and assisting with vocal ranges and music selection.
  • Music Arrangements: In collaboration with the director, arrange music for the production when necessary, including adaptations or cuts to the score.
  • Supervision of Musicians: If applicable, manage and coordinate any additional musicians or the pit band, ensuring their readiness and participation in rehearsals and performances.
  • Rehearsal & Performance Attendance: Attend all music-related rehearsals and performances as required, ensuring consistency in the quality of the musical performance.
  • Health & Safety: Ensure the vocal health of performers by maintaining a safe and positive rehearsal environment.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Experience: At least 2-3 years of experience as a Music Director for theatrical productions, with a preference for musical theatre experience.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in piano, music theory, and vocal coaching.
    • Strong conducting skills and the ability to lead a musical ensemble.
    • Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
    • Ability to motivate and inspire performers, fostering a positive and productive rehearsal environment.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining musical quality.
  • Knowledge:
    • Thorough knowledge of musical theatre repertoire and styles.
    • Understanding of vocal techniques and their application to musical theatre performance.
    • Experience working with and conducting a pit band, orchestra, or ensemble.

Choreography Jobs at Ignite Theatre Company 


Job Summary:
The Choreographer is responsible for creating and teaching the dance choreography for our productions. This includes designing choreography, instructing performers throughout the rehearsal process, and collaborating with the director. The Choreographer will report directly to Ignite’s Executive Director.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Help cast performers during auditions and callbacks.
  • Plan and schedule choreography rehearsals in coordination with the director.
  • Develop and teach the choreography for the production.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the performance, both creatively and logistically.
  • Attend all relevant rehearsals and tech week events.

Time Commitment:

  • Required to attend all production meetings.
  • Must be present for auditions and callbacks.
  • Must attend all choreography rehearsals, scheduled by the director.
  • Required to be available for all Tech Week rehearsals.

Please note: We hold open auditions for all shows—we do not pre-cast roles. While directors are responsible for casting their productions, we encourage you to invite talented performers to audition if you know they’d be a good fit. We expect all directors to maintain an open mind.


Compensation:
Ignite Theatre is a nonprofit organization with limited financial resources. A stipend will be offered, with pay being negotiable and varying by production.

Set Design Jobs at Ignite Theatre Company 

Alice in Wonderland JR.
Performing at the Reim, June 6-7, 2025
Rehearsals: June 2nd through June 6th, Monday-Friday, 9 am-4 pm
Shows: June 6th and 7th at 7 pm
Tech: June 5th-6th

This is a week-long camp beginning June 2nd and ending June 7th. Hours are 8:30 am – 4:30 pm.
Strike following the performance on June 7th.

Purpose of Position:
Create and build a set for a main stage production. Must be willing to work with students and volunteers in an advisory position.

Collective Goals for position:

  • To have fun and develop imagination and creativity.
  • Give student staff a general understanding of set design and construction.
  • Run a well-organized set build and strike.
  • Work within a budget utilizing as many materials currently on hand.
  • Exhibit characteristics of: creativity, responsibility, patience, dependability, maturity; be a self-starter and a team player with a positive attitude.

Duties Include but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate with the director to design the layout and look of the set using pencil sketches and software.
  • Work with costume, prop, makeup, lighting, and camera crews to confirm set details.
  • Coordinate with Director of Production and Operations regarding budget, ordering of materials, U-Haul rental, and theater specifications.
  • Negotiate with vendors to secure the best deals.
  • Drive U-Haul to and from the theater with needed set materials.
  • Supervise set construction.
  • Organize and delegate jobs to volunteers.
  • Quality assurance on all aspects of the set.
  • Brief crew and actors on set safety and explain how the set operates.
  • Mentor a student staff member, including them in all stages of the design and build process.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Excellent creative intelligence and time management skills.
  • A good eye for detail and the ability to generate ideas.
  • Deadline-driven and committed.
  • Ignite prioritizes applicants who can confidently demonstrate an understanding of scenic design and are able to ensure the timely execution of that scenic design. Applicants with a dependable knowledge of carpentry will be highly prioritized.

Pre-Requisites:

  • A dependable vehicle or other mode of transport.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Willingness to coordinate with Ignite vendors/contractors.
  • Proven understanding of scenic design and an ability to communicate design elements in a visual way.
  • Proven understanding of carpentry.
  • Ability to coordinate with Ignite’s Staff & identify performance/equipment needs.
  • Ability to work with children of all ages and their families.
  • Must pass a background check.
  • If hired, attend one training session prior to production. Training sessions will be held at a mutually agreeable date. This training session is mandatory.
  • A “yes-and” attitude!

Time Requirement:

  • Participation in mutually agreeable production meetings with the production team throughout the production process.
  • Tech and show dates are non-negotiable.
  • Attend Load-in/Set build June 1st (time TBD).
  • Attend Strike June 7th (time TBD).

Note: We are a nonprofit theatre and have limited financial resources. We offer a stipend to contractors and listed pay is negotiable. Pay will vary by production.
