Position Overview:
The Stage Manager (SM) is essential for organizing and ensuring the smooth operation of the production, overseeing all aspects from rehearsals to performances. This includes communication with the director, designers, crew, and performers while maintaining safety and organization.
Key Duties:
- Communicate director’s vision to designers and stage crew
- Coordinate crew work and call cues during performances
- Supervise rehearsal props and provide them to actors
- Ensure performers’ safety and maintain health standards
- Attend all rehearsals, supervise performer check-in/out

Position Overview:

Ignite Theatre Company is seeking an experienced Stage Manager for our upcoming All Ages Winter Production at the Grandel Theatre, running December 5-7, 2025. The Stage Manager will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of rehearsals, tech week, and performances. Below are the details:

Position Purpose:

Costume Designer Jobs at – Ignite Theatre Company
Position Title: Costume Designer

Position Overview:
Ignite Theatre Company is seeking an experienced Costume Designer to join our production team for various upcoming shows. The Costume Designer will be responsible for designing, creating, and managing the costumes for the production, ensuring the visual aesthetic of the show aligns with the director’s vision. This role requires creativity, collaboration, and strong organizational skills to execute costume designs on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
- Designing Costumes: Collaborate with the director and production team to create costume designs that reflect the themes, characters, and world of the production.
- Costume Construction & Fitting: Oversee the construction or acquisition of all costumes. Coordinate fittings and alterations for all performers.
- Budget Management: Manage the costume budget, ensuring that all expenses are tracked and that designs are executed within financial constraints.
- Wardrobe Maintenance: Ensure all costumes are properly maintained throughout the rehearsal process and performances. This includes regular cleaning, repairing, and adjusting costumes as necessary.
- Supervision of Team: Lead a team of costume assistants, stitchers, and other costume staff, providing guidance and support throughout the design and production process.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the director, stage manager, lighting designer, and other production team members to ensure that the costumes align with the overall production design.
- Supervise Dress Rehearsals: Ensure all costumes are in place and ready for dress rehearsals. Assist with any last-minute adjustments during rehearsals.
- Manage Costume Storage & Strike: Oversee the organization and storage of costumes after the show’s run, and participate in the strike of costumes post-production.
- Safety & Health: Ensure the safety of performers by designing and constructing costumes that are safe, comfortable, and suitable for movement.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Experience: At least 1 year of costume design experience, preferably in theatrical productions.
- Skills:
- Proficiency in costume design, pattern making, and sewing.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, particularly when facing design challenges.
- Knowledge:

Position Title: Music Director

Ignite Theatre Company is seeking a highly skilled and passionate Music Director to join our team for upcoming productions. The Music Director will be responsible for overseeing the musical elements of the production, including vocal coaching, music rehearsals, and conducting musical performances. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of musical theatre, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with directors, performers, and production staff to bring the musical vision to life.
Key Responsibilities:
- Musical Leadership: Lead vocal rehearsals, coaching performers on vocal technique, expression, and interpretation of the score.
- Score Preparation & Interpretation: Analyze the musical score in collaboration with the director to understand the overall vision for the production and ensure accurate musical interpretations.
- Vocal Coaching: Provide individual and group vocal coaching to ensure that each performer is prepared for their musical numbers, helping them achieve strong, confident, and expressive performances.

Job Summary:
The Choreographer is responsible for creating and teaching the dance choreography for our productions. This includes designing choreography, instructing performers throughout the rehearsal process, and collaborating with the director. The Choreographer will report directly to Ignite’s Executive Director.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Help cast performers during auditions and callbacks.
- Plan and schedule choreography rehearsals in coordination with the director.
- Develop and teach the choreography for the production.
- Contribute to the overall success of the performance, both creatively and logistically.
- Attend all relevant rehearsals and tech week events.
Time Commitment:
- Required to attend all production meetings.
- Must be present for auditions and callbacks.
- Must attend all choreography rehearsals, scheduled by the director.
- Required to be available for all Tech Week rehearsals.
Please note: We hold open auditions for all shows—we do not pre-cast roles. While directors are responsible for casting their productions, we encourage you to invite talented performers to audition if you know they’d be a good fit. We expect all directors to maintain an open mind.

Create and build a set for a main stage production. Must be willing to work with students and volunteers in an advisory position.
Collective Goals for position:
- To have fun and develop imagination and creativity.
- Give student staff a general understanding of set design and construction.
- Run a well-organized set build and strike.
- Work within a budget utilizing as many materials currently on hand.
- Exhibit characteristics of: creativity, responsibility, patience, dependability, maturity; be a self-starter and a team player with a positive attitude.
Duties Include but are not limited to:
- Collaborate with the director to design the layout and look of the set using pencil sketches and software.
- Work with costume, prop, makeup, lighting, and camera crews to confirm set details.
- Coordinate with Director of Production and Operations regarding budget, ordering of materials, U-Haul rental, and theater specifications.
- Negotiate with vendors to secure the best deals.
- Drive U-Haul to and from the theater with needed set materials.
- Supervise set construction.
- Organize and delegate jobs to volunteers.
- Quality assurance on all aspects of the set.
- Brief crew and actors on set safety and explain how the set operates.
- Mentor a student staff member, including them in all stages of the design and build process.

- A good eye for detail and the ability to generate ideas.
- Deadline-driven and committed.
- Ignite prioritizes applicants who can confidently demonstrate an understanding of scenic design and are able to ensure the timely execution of that scenic design. Applicants with a dependable knowledge of carpentry will be highly prioritized.

- A dependable vehicle or other mode of transport.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Willingness to coordinate with Ignite vendors/contractors.

Ignite is hiring an experienced set designer and builder for the following productions:
Beetlejuice JR.
Due to the overwhelming interest in this show, Ignite has decided to do two sessions of this camp.
Session I will perform at the Reim June 13th-14th, 2025.
Session II will be a more immersive experience at the Zack Theatre, performing July 18th-19th.
Rehearsals:
Session I: June 2nd through June 13th, Monday-Friday, 9 am-4 pm.
Session II: July 7th through July 18th, Monday-Friday, 9 am-4 pm.
Shows:
Session I: June 13th and 14th at 7 pm with one 12 pm matinee on June 14th.
Session II: July 18th and 19th at 7 pm with one 12 pm matinee on July 19th.

Our technical team will have access to the theater after hours to work on any projects (4:30 pm-9:00 pm).

Ignite is hiring an experienced set designer and builder for the following production:
Legally Blonde
Performing at the Grandel Theatre, August 8th-10th
Auditions: May 1st (time TBD).
Callbacks: May 3rd (time TBD).
Rehearsals: Every Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30-9:30 starting May 15th.
Load-in: August 3rd
Tech: August 3rd-7th
Purpose of Position:
Create and build a set for a main stage production. Must be willing to work with students and volunteers in an advisory position.
Collective Goals for position:
- To have fun and develop imagination and creativity.
- Give student staff a general understanding of set design and construction.
- Run a well-organized set build and strike.
- Work within a budget utilizing as many materials currently on hand.
- Exhibit characteristics of: creativity, responsibility, patience, dependability, maturity; be a self-starter and a team player with a positive attitude.
Duties Include but are not limited to:
- Collaborate with the director to design the layout and look of the set using pencil sketches and software.
- Work with costume, prop, makeup, lighting, and camera crews to confirm set details.
- Coordinate with Director of Production and Operations regarding budget, ordering of materials, U-Haul rental, and theater specifications.
- Negotiate with vendors to secure the best deals.
- Drive U-Haul to and from the theater with needed set materials.
- Supervise set construction.
- Organize and delegate jobs to volunteers.
- Quality assurance on all aspects of the set.
- Brief crew and actors on set safety and explain how the set operates.
- Mentor a student staff member, including them in all stages of the design and build process.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Excellent creative intelligence and time management skills.
- A good eye for detail and the ability to generate ideas.
- Deadline-driven and committed.
- Ignite prioritizes applicants who can confidently demonstrate an understanding of scenic design and are able to ensure the timely execution of that scenic design. Applicants with a dependable knowledge of carpentry will be highly prioritized.
Pre-Requisites:
- A dependable vehicle or other mode of transport.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
- Willingness to coordinate with Ignite vendors/contractors.
- Proven understanding of scenic design and an ability to communicate design elements in a visual way.
- Proven understanding of carpentry.
- Ability to coordinate with Ignite’s Staff & identify performance/equipment needs.
- Ability to work with children of all ages and their families.
- Must pass a background check.
- If hired, attend one training session prior to production. Training sessions will be held at a mutually agreeable date. This training session is mandatory.
- A “yes-and” attitude!
Time Requirement:
- Participation in mutually agreeable production meetings with the production team throughout the production process.
- Tech and show dates are non-negotiable.
- Load-in/Set build August 3rd.
- Strike August 10th.

Job Title: Tumbling & Stunting Coach
Reports To: Artistic Director & IEPT Choreographer
Location: Ignite Theatre Company, St. Louis, MO
Position Type: Part-Time, Contract
Job Overview:
Ignite Theatre Company is seeking a Tumbling & Stunting Coach to support the Ignite Elite Performance Team (IEPT) in enhancing their confidence and skills in tumbling and stunt work. This coach will focus on teaching safe and progressive tumbling techniques, incorporating effective stunt work, and helping integrate these elements into our competition pieces. The ideal candidate has experience working with young performers in a theatrical or cheerleading setting, prioritizes safety, and can motivate students to develop new skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Skill Development: Teach and refine tumbling skills (e.g., rolls, cartwheels, handsprings, aerials, etc.) and safe stunting techniques appropriate for theatre and competition settings.
- Choreographic Integration: Collaborate with the IEPT Choreographer to seamlessly incorporate tumbling and stunts into performance routines.
- Safety & Technique: Ensure all students develop proper form and technique to reduce injury risks while building strength and confidence.
- Progressive Training: Assess each performer’s skill level and create progressive drills and training plans to improve individual and group abilities.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with the IEPT leadership team to align training with overall performance goals.
- Encouragement & Confidence Building: Foster a positive, inclusive environment where all students feel encouraged to take risks and grow.
Qualifications:
- Experience in tumbling, gymnastics, cheerleading, or acrobatics with a focus on teaching young performers.
- Strong understanding of safe stunt progression and injury prevention practices.
- Ability to adapt training techniques for performers of varying skill levels.
- Prior experience working with youth in a theatre or performance-based setting is a plus.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- CPR & First Aid Certification preferred.
Commitment & Compensation:
- Rehearsal Schedule: Weekly or biweekly sessions (based on team needs) starting in September, leading up to competitions and performances.
- Compensation: Based on experience and availability.
