What is IEPT?
The Ignite Elite Performance Team is a dynamic group of performers representing all skill levels, who showcase their talents throughout the metro area while embodying the Ignite mission: putting great people first, and great performers second. This team, along with their families, forms the heart of Ignite, serving as a model of kindness, service, and leadership within the organization. Members of the Elite Performance Team are held to a higher standard than SPARK participants in mainstage performances or camps, demonstrating exceptional commitment and character both on and off the stage.
OUR GOALS FOR IGNITE’S ELITE PERFORMANCE TEAM:
- To help each performer gain confidence
- To provide individualized attention in each area of performance
- Challenge each participant as both performer and person
- To serve as ambassadors of Ignite’s SPARK mission (Service, Performance, Accessibility, Real Life Experience and Kindness Initiatives) by performing throughout the Metro area (and now beyond)!
WHAT KIND OF ACTIVITIES AND EVENTS DO WE DO?
Throughout the year, we host a variety of “Cause” and “Applause” events that support both community service and celebrate our talents. Our “Cause” events include activities like visiting assisted living facilities and performing at the Cardinals Care Christmas party at Busch Stadium. For our “Applause” events, we take pride in performances such as singing the National Anthem at Gateway Grizzlies games, participating in Ignite the Night, and attending the Junior Theatre Festival in Atlanta, Georgia. In addition to these events, our team engages in numerous team-building and bonding activities throughout the season to strengthen our connection and enhance our collaboration.
THROUGHOUT THE SEASON AN IEPT PERFORMER CAN EXPECT:
-
Receive personalized monthly attention in every area of performance, including one-on-one sessions with Ignite staff and teaching artists.
-
Enjoy exclusive access to performances and experiences beyond regular participation in mainstage productions and camps.
-
Develop leadership skills and character through opportunities that include public speaking, problem-solving, empathy-building, event planning, and project execution
WHAT DOES IT TAKE TO BE ON IGNITE’S ELITE TEAM?
An IEPT member is a role model, exemplifying excellence both in performance and character. The team is composed of individuals from diverse backgrounds and skill levels, where newcomers or those with less professional training are just as likely to be selected as those with extensive experience. This team provides every performer with the opportunity to grow, not only in their performance skills but also in leadership, personal development, and beyond!
WHEN AND WHERE DO YOU REHEARSE?
Rehearsals take place every Tuesday from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm, starting in August and running through February. Our rehearsal space is located at Ignite Theatre Company, 3519 Hampton Ave, Saint Louis, MO 63139
MORE INFO
What is the Junior Theater Festival?
Junior Theater Festival is a 3-day celebration of Musical Theater with over 6000 young performers from around the world. In 2023, Ignite’s Elite Performance Team performed a 15-minute excerpt from Disney’s Aladdin Jr and was adjudicated by a panel of musical theater experts. Our team was awarded the Freddie G. Excellence in Acting Award for the first year in attendance! There, they worked with industry professionals, saw upcoming productions, took workshops, and created art with other youth performers from around the globe. We knew we had to make this life-changing program part of our yearly season. We will be back on Martin Luther King Day weekend in 2024!
