THE AUDITION EDGE

Fridays | 5:00–5:45 PM

About the Class

Get audition-ready with Audition Edge, a focused six-week program designed to equip young performers with the tools, techniques, and confidence needed to succeed in the audition room.

Whether you’re auditioning for school shows, community theatre, or pre-professional programs, this class will help you sharpen every step of the process—from selecting the right material to making a strong first impression.

Students Will Learn To

  • Choose Appropriate Material:
    Find and prepare monologues and song cuts that highlight strengths and suit the role or show.
    Prepare with Purpose:
    Mark cuts clearly, communicate with accompanists, and walk into the room ready to work.
  • Slate with Confidence:
    Practice introducing yourself clearly and professionally.
  • Break Down Audition Notices:
    Understand what casting teams are looking for and how to tailor your preparation accordingly.
  • Handle Cold Reads & Sides:
    Gain experience with in-the-room adjustments and quick preparation.
  • Present with Poise:
    Build body awareness, manage nerves, and maintain confidence from entrance to exit.

Mock Auditions & Feedback

The class includes mock auditions with individualized feedback, giving students a chance to apply their new skills in a low-pressure, supportive environment.

Acting the Song – Where Music Meets Acting

Thursdays | 5:00–5:45 PM Instructor: Breonna Jackson  Dates: February 12– March 19 Ages: 11–18   Tuition: $175

Where music meets acting!
This class teaches students how to interpret lyrics, find character motivation, and make bold acting choices within a song. Through guided exercises, one-on-one feedback, and mini performances, students will learn to connect emotionally to their music and deliver authentic, captivating performances.

Students Will Learn To:

  • Interpret Lyrics: Understand the story behind the words and uncover the emotions driving the character.
  • Find Character Motivation: Explore why a character sings a song and what they want, helping to make performance choices stronger and more authentic.
  • Make Bold Acting Choices: Take risks with gestures, facial expressions, and vocal inflections to fully embody the character.
  • Connect Emotionally: Build a believable emotional connection between the song, the character, and the audience.

Arts4All: Stories from Under the Sea

 Tuesdays | 6:00–8:30 PM  Dates: April 7- May 26 Ages: 6–15 (or new performers)  Tuition: $200 Instructor- TBA

Dive into the world of The Little Mermaid JR and beyond! This inclusive theatre experience welcomes performers of all abilities, with a special focus on new performers and students with developmental delays. Students will work together to create and perform scenes and songs inspired by The Little Mermaid JR and other ocean-themed stories, bringing favorite under-the-sea characters to life.

Through acting, singing, and movement activities, students will build skills at their own pace in a supportive, sensory-friendly environment. The class will conclude with a final performance featuring costumes, where each student has the chance to shine.

The Arts4All program emphasizes creativity, teamwork, and confidence, while celebrating each artist’s unique voice and abilities.

Students Will Learn To:

 

  • Act in Scenes: Explore storytelling, character expression, and dialogue in a fun, guided way.

Foundations 1: Intro to Musical Theatre Dance

Saturdays| 12:30–1:30 PM   Dates: Jan. 17- March 24  Ages: 8–18  Tuition: $290

Designed for beginners, Foundations I introduces students to the fundamentals of ballet, jazz, and musical theatre movement. Dancers will learn proper alignment, balance, and rhythm while developing coordination, flexibility, and strength.

The focus is on building confidence in movement, understanding dance terminology, and discovering how to tell stories through dance. Each class combines structured technique with creative expression in a supportive, encouraging environment.

Students Will Learn To:

  • Build a Strong Foundation: Practice basic ballet and jazz skills that support all styles of dance.
  • Develop Technique: Improve posture, balance, and flexibility through guided exercises.
  • Understand Dance Vocabulary: Learn and apply essential terminology for ballet and jazz.

Foundations II – Refining Technique and Storytelling

An intermediate-level dance class building on the skills learned in Foundations I. Dancers will refine technical precision, balance, and transitions while exploring more complex choreography and musical phrasing.

The class emphasizes connecting emotion and intention to movement, helping performers dance with both strong technique and compelling storytelling.

Students Will Learn To:

  • Refine Technique: Improve alignment, transitions, and overall precision in ballet, jazz, and musical theatre styles.
  • Explore Musicality: Understand phrasing, rhythm, and timing to enhance performance.

Foundations III is an advanced-level dance class designed for students who have completed Foundations II or have equivalent training. WIZOMANIA- Stories From the Land of Oz

WEDNESDAYS 5 pm- 6 pm Jan. 21-Mar. 25   Ages: 8–16  Tuition: $175 Instructor: TBA

Ease on down the road in this high-energy musical theatre class inspired by The Wizard of Oz, The Wiz, and Wicked! Students will perform scenes and songs from all three musicals while exploring a range of musical theatre storytelling styles—from classic Broadway charm to soulful Motown grooves to contemporary pop power.

This class promotes vocal expression, character development, and dynamic stage movement, all within a supportive and fun ensemble environment.

Students Will Learn To:

Group Voice: Singing in Harmony

Ignite Theatre Company – General Class Policy

At Ignite Theatre Company, we are committed to providing a high-quality, supportive educational experience for all students. Please review our policies before enrolling.

Registration & Attendance

 

  • All students must be registered in advance for the full session. Some classes may allow for late entry, but all classes are closed to new registrations after three class sessions.
    Drop-in participation is not permitted unless otherwise noted for specific programming.

  • Consistent attendance ensures student growth and group success.

 

Refund Policy

All class tuition is non-refundable.

  • Once a student is registered and payment is received, we cannot issue refunds for any reason, including schedule changes, illness, or other conflicts
     

Canceled Classes

If a class must be canceled due to weather, staff illness, or other unforeseen circumstances, we will:

  • Do our best to offer a make-up session.
  • If a make-up cannot be scheduled, families will receive a credit toward future Ignite programming.
  • No monetary refunds will be issued.

Class Expectations

 

Students should arrive on time, dressed appropriately for movement, and ready to participate.

  • Respect for instructors, fellow students, and the learning environment is required at all times.
  • Families will be contacted if behavioral or attendance concerns arise.
  • We appreciate your cooperation and support in helping us create a consistent, safe, and inspiring space for young performers to grow.
